Karabiner 98k, 7.92x57mm in a 5-round clip-fed internal magazine. The standard-issue rifle of the Nazi Wehrmacht for all of the Second World War, although it might have been replaced with the Sturmgewehr 44 if the war had continued. It's a bolt-action carbine, useful over long ranges but somewhat ineffective in the close-quarters battles the Nazis eventually hit on the Eastern front. The rifle's widespread use was largely due to the Nazis' emphasis on basing their squads around light machine gunners and using riflemen as covering fire. <sarcasm>That worked real well for them </sarcasm>
